Miss Rwanda 2021 visits RDRC Head office

Miss Rwanda 2021, Grace Ingabire visited Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (RDRC) Head Office in a bid to convey a message of hope. She was received by RDRC Chairperson, Madam Valerie Nyirahabineza.

 The visit by Miss Ingabire took place on 27th, May 2021 at RDRC Headquarters in Kacyiru, Gasabo District.

Welcoming the visitor, Madam Nyirahabineza congratulated her on winning the Miss Rwanda 2021 contest.

"Let me take this opportunity to congratulate you on being crowned Miss Rwanda. This is an opportunity for all Rwandans, we hope and believe that you will serve your country meticulously," Madam Nyirahabineza said.

The RDRC Chairperson urged Miss Rwanda, to work tirelessly towards community transformation. She also commended her for choosing to partner with the Commission in an effort to improve community livelihoods.

She noted it’s the right time for ex-combatants to reap the fruits of the country’s liberation struggle.

Peace and stability the country is enjoying were ushered in by ex-combatants during the liberation struggle, she said.

On her part, Miss Rwanda Ingabire appreciated the Commission’s work in line with reintegration of ex-combatants in the community. She said reintegration of ex-combatants in the community is a sign of peace and stability in the country.

She noted she met RDRC authorities to share ideas on possible areas where she can offer her support. "I am here to exchange ideas with you. This would help me know possible areas of supporting your beneficiaries," Ingabire said, and added: "I am passionate to support ex-combatants because they took a lead in liberating this country and as well as stopping the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi".

She remarked that the country’s development would not be possible without the peace and stability ushered in by the liberators.

She pledged to support economic cooperatives for ex-combatants, provide them with Prosthesis and Orthosis, especially to those who are disabled as well as treating beneficiaries sight deficiencies.

"You are welcome. We shall receive you and partner with you to improve lives of our beneficiaries. We have well-built Production Workshops across the country where cooperatives can operate well. It will be easier for us", observed Mr. David Munyurangabo, the RDRC Commissioner.

The RDRC Secretary General Mr. Francis Musoni said the cohesion of ex-combatants has enabled them to live peacefully in the community. He said it would be a stepping stone for any good Samaritan who would wish to provide support to beneficiaries.

The Director of HVP Gatagara -Nyanza, Mr. Kizito Misago lauded the partnership with RDRC. He said his health facility was already a service Provider to RDRC, therefore it will be easier for them to provide necessary health equipment needed for ex-combatants.
