RDRC welcomes new Chairperson Madam Valerie Nyirahabineza

The RDRC has officially welcomed the new Chairperson Madam Valerie Nyirahabineza at the RDRC Head office in Musanze District. In his opening remarks, the RDRC Commissioner Mr. Fred Nyamurangwa congratulated the new Chairperson and pledged to support her in a bid to run smoothly the Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration activities.

Commissioner Nyamurangwa said: " You are warlmly welcome. You are now part of us and we shall work as a team to accomplish our mission", he said.  "Here is an office file. It will help you to run the Commission's activities country-wide", he addded. He also wished her success  in her new assignement.

 For her part, the in coming Chairperson Madam Valerie Nyirahabineza expressed happiness by thanking the Commission for welcoming her. "I thank you very much for welcoming me. This is really a privilege to me. I will work to the best of my abilities to serve Rwandans", said Nyirahabineza. She also expressed gratitude to the government of Rwanda for having entrusted her with the responsibilities of the Chairperson.

Notably, the Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration Commission has been lauded by global peace scientists for having in place successful demobilization and reintegration activities on the globe. This is because, the Commission has received grate number of peace scientists, scholars, researchers and conflict ravaged countries from across the world coming to learn from best practices in regard with demobilization and reintegration of ex-combatants in the community.
